Prime Day is over, and with it the best Prime Day office chair deals are gone - although, if you look carefully, I'm still seeing a few discount office chairs on Amazon.

If you're still looking for the best office chairs, my team and I have tested them all - although the next time we'll see savings will be in the best Black Friday office chair deals and best Cyber Monday office chair deals coming at the end of November this year.

Prime Day office chair deals are, by and large, finished - but you can still find a handful of price-drops still available. Don't expect them to last long.

Amazon Basics Classic Padded Mid-Back Office Chair: was $86 Now $61 at AmazonSave $25 For well under a hundred bucks, you don’t get every feature going, but you do get a smart office chair with adjustable seat height and angle, with PU upholstery, padded seat, and a sturdy metal base certified by BIFMA – a nonprofit that creates safe standards for office furniture. Is this chair flashy? No. Is it comfortable and supportive? All day.

Sihoo ergonomic office chair with 4D Armrests: was £350 Now £200 at AmazonSave £150 Mesh backrest, 4D lumbar support, 4D armrests - yes, there's plenty to like from this classic office chair from Sihoo, whose chairs have, in our experience, performed very well during reviews.

Flash Furniture Office Chair: was £117 now £97 at AmazonSave £20 A classic office chair with a mesh fabric back-rest for breathability at under £100 is a good deal - although the chair has a limited number of features at this price, beyond tilt and recline, although we always like to see flip-up armrests.

Adjustable lumbar support continuously supports your lower back, and it’s designed for a wide variety of body types.

Steelcase Gesture: was £1289 now £1095 at AmazonSave £194 The Steelcase Gesture left us seriously impressed after our review - yes, it’s a premium product, but it also boasts premium comfort, adjustability, and support across the board. The fabric, made of wool and polyamide should make it breathable in all weather conditions.

This is one category where we recommend installing a browser extension like Keepa or using a website like CamelCamelCamel to check if your chosen product is at a historically low price.

The Mimoglad and Sihoo chairs we’ve picked out as particular favorites below, for instance, are currently at relatively low prices when considering their history – but that’s not always the case.

The discount situation in the run-up to Prime Day is certainly volatile, then, but we do expect more discounts to crystalize as the day itself gets closer.

And no matter what the situation with the deals on offer, there are some rules you need to follow when buying a new office chair. Consider the adjustment options you need – if you want to ensure maximum comfort, the more movement you have the better.

Consider if you need armrests, lumbar support or a headrest – if not, a smaller and more stylish chair could be viable.

Think about the chair’s height and weight limit to ensure that it’ll accommodate you comfortably, and seek out furniture with meshed backs if you want to improve air circulation and keep yourself cool in warmer climates.

Amazon's second Prime Day - known as Prime Big Deal Days - is now on, running between October 8 - 9 2024.

With deals in the run-up to Prime Day and on the day itself, sometimes only for a few hours, it’s worth signing up before the all-important dates to ensure you’re ready.

You need to be an Amazon Prime member in order to get access to Prime Day deals, which costs $14.99 per month or $139 for a year.

However, new subscribers can take advantage of the 30-day Amazon Prime free trial to buy the deals. You can only use this if you've never been a member before, so it won't be available if you've used it already or if you've signed up for Amazon Prime in the past.

While on the free trial, you get all the other membership benefits including free shipping, access to Prime Video and much more. We expect decent discounts on most big-brand office chairs, including those from Amazon’s ranges. At the more affordable end of the scale, the discounts will likely be small and you may only spot price drops on particular colors or models. And at the premium end, the desirability of products from companies like Herman Miller means they’ll probably stay at full price throughout this particular sale period.
